Food & Fitness was launched in 2006 as an extension of the Kellogg Foundation’s legacy in food systems and community-based public health. It invested in nine communities across the county with a vision that everyone—especially the most vulnerable children—has access to affordable, healthy locally grown food, and opportunities to be physically active and play. All nine Food & Fitness grantees are part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Food & Community Program, which continues past efforts to address affordability and access to good food, and opportunities for physical activity.
